GVA, the UK's largest independent commercial property advisor, has been instructed by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the Ministry of Defence's (MOD) property and services provider, to procure a Development Manager for Arborfield Garrison in Berkshire.

The MOD has signed a Collaboration Agreement with two adjoining landowners to deliver one of the most significant residential led development opportunities in the South East of England. The Arborfield site offers a unique opportunity to deliver a high quality sustainable development of circa 2,000 new homes, associated supporting uses and major infrastructure.

The MOD is seeking a Development Manager to represent them on the Landowners Collaboration Committee. The Development Manager will be expected to work closely with DIO and will be required to fund, manage and lead the development to maximise the net value of the receipt, in return for a share of the net proceeds realised.

Subject to the agreement of the Collaboration Committee, the Development Manager may also be required to progress the current planning position, facilitate and/or build the infrastructure provision, provide strategic advice and leadership on the site development, manage the disposal process, construct part or all of the commercial aspects of the development and or build a percentage of the residential units.

Barney Hillsdon, Director at GVA comments: "The preferred party will be selected following a two stage procurement process to include the completion of a Pre Qualification Questionnaire, followed by Competitive Dialogue and the submission of final tenders."
