Gerry Hughes

Gerry Hughes
Chief Executive

Gerry has been with the business since 1992 in a number of leadership roles, most recently as National Head of the business’ Planning, Development and Regeneration team. Gerry has successfully helped lead us to a position where we are currently advising on some of the most significant projects in London. This is exemplified by the launch recently of the £2 billion Haringey Development Vehicle and the Winstanley Estate Renewal project alongside Clapham Junction.





Sebastian Happel

Sebastian Happel
Chief Financial Officer

Sebastian joined the Board in July 2014 and is responsible for our business’ finances, supporting the Executive and the Board on financial matters. He was responsible for the post-merger integration of the Bilfinger GVA and Bilfinger Real Estate businesses. Sebastian studied Finance at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and was with Deutsche Bank for two years. Since 2007 he has held various merger and acquisition centred positions within the Bilfinger Group.





Ian Stringer

Ian Stringer
Regional Senior Director

Ian is currently appointed as Regional Senior Director of the Midlands region. He is an elected member of and past non-executive chairman of the firm’s Advisory Board and leads the national “Transactional Services” Steering Group which provides guidance on all matters relating to legislation and practice in the commercial Estate Agency Arena. He was a member of the Technical panel contributing to the “RICS UK Commercial Real Estate Agency Standards” (Nov 2011). Ian has 25 years’ experience in the office sector, mostly in the Midlands, dealing with leasing, disposals, acquisitions and development consultancy.





Max Haycocks

Max Haycocks
Head of Building Advisory

Max is Head of the Building Consultancy team and is involved in all aspects of building surveying, predominately acting for corporates and investment funds. He has had over 20 years’ experience in a wide variety of new build, refurbishment building contracts and professional work. Clients have included insurance companies, investment funds, industrial and commercial clients and the public sector.

Max has developed specialist expertise in large scale surveys, and investment acquisition advice and has managed major surveys for investment funds in the UK and Europe.

He also has extensive experience in project management and the role of Employer’s Agent for owner/occupier clients on commercial contracts.





Lisa Riva

Lisa Riva
Head of Property and Centre Management

Lisa heads up the Property Management Consultancy team. She is responsible for the management of commercial properties and portfolios of offices, retail and industrial accommodation throughout the UK for retained property companies, corporate clients and occupiers. Her responsibilities include negotiating lettings, lease renewals, developing management strategy and working closely with clients.

Lisa also heads a number of national initiatives for the property management consultancy department including energy management, sustainability and tenant satisfaction.





Tim Crossley-Smith

Tim Crossley-Smith
Head of Valuation Services

Tim is the Head of Valuation Services responsible for the division nationally. He has a strong valuation background of 25 years’ experience in the commercial property sector having acted for the leading financial institutions, property companies and corporate owners. Tim has previously been a member of the Appraisal and Valuation Standards Committee of the RICS, responsible for drafting the “Red Book”, and has advised the Government on the development of a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in valuation.





Tony Baldwin

Tony Baldwin
Head of Rating Services

After joining in 1989 Tony, was elected to Partner in 1992, and oversaw the development of the Northern Rating Team into one of the strongest in the region before becoming National Head of Rating in 2005.

He has been instrumental in assisting the National Unit to develop into one of the largest in the UK, highlighted by the British Government Commissions on both the 2000 and 2005 Rating Lists to act on behalf of various major Departments including the Ministry of Defence, HM Revenue and Customs, HM Court Service, HM Treasury, DEFRA and the National Offender Management Service (HM Prison Service).

He is lead Director for national Rating instructions relating to a number of public and private sector clients including Amec Plc, HM Revenue and Customs and Land Securities Trillium (relating to the DVLA and the Department for Work and Pensions Estates throughout England, Scotland and Wales).

In 2006 acting on behalf of Trafford MBC in the case of Trafford MBC –v- Mr Brian Pollard (Valuation Office) he successfully appealed a case to the Lands Tribunal requesting a merger of a School and Sports Centre after a decade a resistance by the Valuation Office.

Within the North West region he continues to be responsible for delivering comprehensive Rating advice to the Metropolitan Authorities of Oldham and Trafford, and also advises the Hospital Trusts in Bolton, Stockport, North Manchester, Oldham and North Glamorgan together with all of North Wales NHS Trusts.

Tony is a Member of the Agents representing the NHS in Central Negotiations with the Chief Executive’s Office of the VOA for the 2000 and 2005 Rating Revaluations.
