GVA announces that it has bolstered its residential offer through the appointment of Richard Stonehouse and Burak Varisli to create and lead a new residential investment team.
This entry into the residential capital markets space will complement GVA’s already well-established residential platforms that operate in the development, private rented and real estate finance sectors throughout the UK, with significant experience in public/private partnerships.
In addition to establishing the residential investment team, based in London, Richard and Burak will focus on financing residential development across all market segments including the affordable and private rented sectors. The team will be active from March 2018.
These appointments follow GVA’s creation of an Investment Partnerships team in 2017, headed by John Tatham and Jon Bull-Diamond, which is focused on public/private partnership opportunities that blend public sector assets with private finance to deliver major regeneration and development.
Richard and Burak both join GVA from JLL and bring a combined experience of nearly 24 years in the sector. Prior to joining JLL, Richard gained experience at CWM Retail Property Advisors, while Burak previously worked in corporate finance at Centrus Advisors and Asset Trust Housing.
Gerry Hughes, Chief Executive at GVA says: “Housing delivery is a significant business area at GVA, and we have a longstanding track record in the development, planning and financing stages of housing delivery, and more recently, PRS specifically. The addition of a strong residential investment team creates a full residential advisory offer for our clients across the private and public sectors.
“We are at an exciting stage in GVA’s growth and our brand is synonymous with where the best talent in the industry want to work and grow. Richard and Baruk represent key appointments in our wider strategy.”
Neil Dovey, Head of Transactions and Capital Markets at GVA says: “Richard and Burak represent more high profile appointments that are focused on specific growth areas, and which complement our existing consultancy expertise in a key market for GVA. These appointments widen our overall investment offering to clients and support the expertise we already have within the alternative investment space.”
