GVA has further strengthened its Strategic Advisory offer with the appointment of Peter Woodley as a Director. In his role at GVA, Peter will work alongside Laura Stamboulieh and Guy Brett, both of whom joined GVA in 2018 and co-lead GVA’s strategic advisory platform.
Peter is a chartered surveyor with over 30 years’ experience providing strategic solutions for a range of property matters in the private and public sectors, including asset management, economic development, local authority investment, valuation, planning and development, compulsory purchase and marketing and agency. Peter was recently a lead Officer for Plymouth City Council co-ordinating their One Public Estate (OPE) program, where he specialised in Health and Wellbeing and worked with the NHS, CCG, Community and Primary Care Health Providers, CHP and the local Hospital Trust.
He has also worked recently for South Somerset District Council, in part on the Somerset OPE program, and also providing multi-disciplinary property advice. Prior to Plymouth, he worked for North Devon District Council and Blaenau Gwent County Council. He was also a Director at BNP Paribas Real Estate, where he set up and led the South West and South Wales Public Sector Consulting team, as well as an Associate with Donaldsons in their London and Bristol offices, where he previously worked with Laura.
Laura Stamboulieh said: “Peter joins us at an important stage in the growth of GVA’s Strategic Advisory platform, and brings important first-hand experience of local authorities, one of the six core sectors the team advises. The commercial expertise that Peter has accumulated from his private sector experience will also be invaluable to our public sector clients. In addition to his insight into local authorities, he also has an excellent understanding of the wider public sector, especially health, and we look forward to working with him.”
