Now in its 20th year, LandAid’s annual 10k challenge moves to Clapham Common, looking to raise £100,000 for charity.

In 2015, the LandAid 10k raised £80,000, a target that this year’s event is hoping to beat by an additional £20,000. Headline sponsor and leading property adviser, Bilfinger GVA has an impressive 47 people currently taking part to raise money for charity, in addition to the hundreds already signed up from the wider industry.

Gerry Hughes, Chief Executive at Bilfinger GVA comments: “It’s fantastic to see so much enthusiasm for this year’s LandAid 10k challenge and to have a huge number of people taking part, not only from Bilfinger GVA but from our peers as well. LandAid makes a significant difference to so many young people’s lives across the county and we are delighted to provide our continued support and help contribute to this year’s £100,000 fundraising target.”

Paul Morrish, Chief Executive of LandAid notes: “The LandAid 10K is one of our flagship events, bringing together colleagues from across the property industry, on one afternoon in June, to run together in support of young people who are homeless. Bilfinger GVA have been fantastic partners for LandAid, and their sponsorship and support make a massive difference, ensuring every penny raised by our amazing runners goes to helping some of the most vulnerable young people across the UK. Our thanks to Gerry and everyone at Bilfinger GVA and to all those who’ll help us smash last year’s total and make 2016 a record 10K year!”

LandAid, the property industry’s leading charity, is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged and deprived children and young people across the UK. Each year, the charity invests over £1 million into projects across the UK, from Tower Hamlets to North Belfast.

LandAid organises a number of events throughout the year in partnership with leading property companies. The 10k challenge has become a landmark event in the industry’s calendar, raising well over £250,000 since its inception.
