On Thursday 29 September, policy network Future of London (FoL) will hold a cross-sector Brexit briefing assessing the impact the referendum result has had on economic activity in London, and consider how the capital should move forward.

The breakfast event hosted by Arup will see Professor Tony Travers, Chair of the London Finance Commission and Director at LSE London, provide an initial briefing, followed by individual responses from the panel and discussion on the opportunities and challenges presented within the political, legal, economic, real estate, local government and infrastructure sectors.

Gerry Hughes, Chief Executive at Bilfinger GVA will speak on the panel, alongside Richard de Cani, Arup UKMEA; Lyn Garner, Director at London Borough of Haringey; Clare Reddy, Partner, Lewis Silkin; Chris Madel, Board Director, London Communications Agency; and David Lunts, Executive Director – Housing and Land, GLA.

Lisa Taylor, Chief Executive at Future of London said: "A lot of the news and forecasting we see -- no matter how high-quality -- is very sector-specific. This event, like our first in July, provides live updates and further resources across economics, law, politics, local government and infrastructure as well as property and development. For our cross-sector network of 2,700 professionals, that kind of holistic view is key to making sound decisions in this tumultuous time."

Gerry Hughes comments: “Future of London’s Brexit briefings are a great opportunity for much-needed discussion across a wide range of sectors, with industry leaders also able to provide specific insight. Following the initial post-referendum hiatus, the commercial property market has ‘normalised’ again. However businesses need certainty and the Government needs to clarify its approach to the vast range of complex issues. Across all sectors, nurturing talent, creativity and the development of skills are now more important than ever.”
