Leading real estate advisory firm GVA has launched a new dedicated Land and Development division in Yorkshire.
The move enables GVA to capitalise on Government plans to accelerate house building on behalf of its land holding public and private sector clients.
The new division is led by GVA’s residential land expert, Dai Powell, director, who moves from GVA’s national Planning, Development and Regeneration team to take on the role. The team will focus on residential land agency, feasibility and consultancy to help their clients gain maximum value and returns from their land holdings.
The launch comes as the Government commits to releasing hundreds of acres of public sector land to deliver new homes and boost local economic growth. GVA believes that its current position on several key framework contracts will be key in helping to facilitate this.
Commenting on the launch, Dai said: “Establishing a dedicated Land and Development division is the next step in cementing GVA’s position as the go-to real estate advisory firm in the region and opens new opportunities for further growth as home building becomes more important on the Government’s agenda. We are already working with a host of private and public sector landowners in this capacity, on land at various stages in the development pipeline with the potential to deliver over 2,500 new homes across Yorkshire in the immediate future. Having a dedicated team will allow us to take on more of this type of work.
“I’m looking forward to growing the team over the coming year.”
The Land and Development team will also be targeting and facilitating the development of key city centre sites for mixed-use and the private-rented sector.
