Following several years of sustained growth, Morley Glass is expanding to larger premises in a deal led by commercial real estate adviser Bilfinger GVA.

Morley Glass, the UK’s largest manufacturer of integrated blinds for bi-folding doors, sealed and double glazed windows, doors, conservatories and decorative glass, has agreed to lease the 39,000sq ft Unit 3 at Leeds 27 Industrial Estate, Morley.

The business is relocating from Millshaw Park in Leeds where it currently occupies 15,000 sq ft.

Ian Short, managing director of Morley Glass, said: “The popularity of our Uni-Blinds sealed units with Screenline integral blinds inside has increased demand so much that we needed a larger factory.

“The new premises will enable us to put in an extra production line for our specialist product offering – Screenline integral blinds – and enhance our position as the UK’s biggest manufacturer and supplier of this high quality Italian home improvement accessory. We’ll also be adding a few new products to our range.”

Rob Oliver, director at Bilfinger GVA, letting agents for the landlord InfraRed Capital Partners, added: “We took Units 2 and 3 at Leeds 27 Industrial Estate back from a previous tenant and have undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment, including a new roof.

“Given this, and the excellent connectivity of the estate, we were confident of attracting a quality letting. We are delighted to welcome Morley Glass to the estate, and it is always great to see a local manufacturer expanding its operation.

“The only remaining vacant unit is Unit 2, which extends to 21,000 sq ft and is available by way of a new lease at a quoting rent of £4.75 sq ft.”
