Longbridge is a 468 acre site, formerly the MG Rover Longbridge car plant, and one of the largest regeneration projects in the West Midlands.
The proposed £750 million regeneration of Longbridge will establish the area as a truly mixed use model of sustainability with the regeneration expected to:
- Create up to 10,000 new jobs through a diverse range of employment opportunities.
- Deliver more than 1,980 new homes.
he first £100 million phase of the 40 acre Longbridge Technology Park was completed in June 2007 offering two landmark buildings. The Innovation Centre (45,000 sq ft) offers a variety of fully flexible suites from 200 sq ft upwards. The building is now 98% let and has circa 30 occupiers employing over 130 people. Two Devon Way is a neighbouring 31,208 sq ft office building to accommodate expanding technology-based occupiers.
In September 2011, Bourneville College relocated to a new £84 million campus at Longbridge. The purpose built 250,000 sq ft, six storey building, has the capacity for 15,000 students and features state of the art facilities including a learning resource centre, business school, construction workshop, and leisure and sport facilities. The new town centre with a range of retail, leisure and public facilities has recently opened providing a focal point for the emerging new community.
Sustainability has been at the heart of St Modwen's approach at Longbridge and there has been a target to reclaim or re-use 95% of all materials from demolition and remediation.

How GVA added value
Due to the scale and nature of the project, a multi-disciplinary approach has been applicable, with input from a range of GVA teams in connection with the design and evaluation of a wide range of proposals. This has ranged from input into the master planning exercise, provision of advice in relation to the service charge regime and town centre management plan, to evaluation of costs associated with Community Infrastructure Levy.
