DCLG: Planning for the right homes in the right place:
In February 2017 the Government published the Housing White Paper “Fixing our broken housing market” (HWP), which set out its intention to introduce a standard method for assessing housing need. Options for a standardised approach to calculating Objectively Assessed Need (OAN) were published on 14th September 2017 with the consultation running for 8 weeks until Thursday 9th November 2017.
Subject to the outcome of this consultation, the Government intends to publish a draft revised National Planning Policy Framework in early 2018.
