GVA was announced as the Commercial Agent of the Year at Variety’s 27th Annual “the PROPS” Lunch, beating DTRE, JLL, Kieran Cotter and Tudor Toone to the award.
The PROPS Lunch is real estate’s premier fundraising event, which raises vital funds to purchase electric wheelchairs for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK.
“This is the first time we have won this award”, says Head of Transactions and Capital Markets, Neil Dovey. “A number of our clients also received awards including Paul White of Frogmore (Life Time award), Ray Palmer of Palmer Capital (Entrepreneur of the Year) and M7 (Fund Manager of the Year).
“Our award was presented by Chief Executive of Palace Capital Plc and Chairman of The Props, Neil Sinclair. We acted for Palace last year on the purchase of RT Warren, a property company of 21 commercial and 65 residential properties, for around £70 million, which helped demonstrate our capabilities to the award committee. The portfolio was funded through a share placing and was instrumental in helping Palace move up to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange from AIM”.
The award ceremony took place at the London Hilton on Park Lane and was hosted by former England and Northampton Saints rugby player Martin Bayfield. Over £340,000 was raised for Variety during the lunch.
